NAME  :  Digital  India Program 

TYPE OF YOJANA  :  This is a flagship initiative of  Shri Modi Government which aims at transforming India in to a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. This includes action plan for creating Digital Infrastructure & planning & creating e-platforms for providing Governance and services to citizens.

PURPOSE  :  The main purpose of Digital India programme is to transform India  into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

  • Digital Infrastructure as a Utility to Every Citizen by making available high speed internet as a core utility for delivery of service.  To provide lifelong digital identity that is unique, lifelong, online and authenticable to every citizen

  • Mobile phone & bank account enabling citizen participation in digital & financial space. Easy access to a Common Service Centre. Shareable private space on a public cloud

  • Safe and secure cyber-space                                              

 STRUCTURE  :  30 types of Digital Infrastructure is created by Shri Modi Govt. under this initiative. There are total 30 infrastructure initiatives created under this initiative. Some of them are very popular and have proved to very useful. Aadhar, Digilocker, Disha ( Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan ), BBN ( Bharat Broadband Network ) are few prominent examples.

  • There are 69 on line services which have been made available under this yojana. The details are available on the above website. These are mainly mobile apps enabling the citizens easy access to various services and schemes offered by Shri Modi Government. Prominent amongst them are  BHIM ( Bharat Interface for Money ), eNAM  ( National Agricultural Market ), eVISA which enables prospective tourist visiting India from abroad to apply for visa online. These online services cover all types of Government and other necessary services.

  • Using the above Infrastructure and the Services ( Apps ) Shri Modi Govt. has empowered large no. of Citizens of our country. Presently there are 16 avenues where this empowerment has taken place. For example the Aadhar enabled payment service at POS i.e. at the doorstep of the citizen through the Business Correspondent of the Banks using  Aadhar as an identity and the Aadhar enabled payment service to carry out basic banking transactions such as cash deposit and withdrawal. Some prominent empowering citizens are the MyGov web portal providing information and services, Smart Cities mission etc.

LAUNCHING  DETAILS  :  Digital initiative was an ongoing program but was not much effective and the scope was very limited. This yojana in it’s present exhaustive form was launched by Hon. Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister on 1st July 2015.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE  :  If you are a Women or belong to SC or ST category you can avail loan under this scheme. You can apply for the Loan on line through the Stand Up Mitra Portal or directly through a Bank or through District Lead Manager. Details are available on the Stand Up Mitra Portal.

BENEFICIARIES  :  Till date 336 Crore documents are issued safely through Digilocker service.

  • Till date Rs. 1 Lac 47 Thousand Crores worth orders have been  placed on GeM ( Government e Market ) portal

  • Till date an amount of Rs. 5 Lacs 28 Thousand Crores have been transferred directly to the beneficieries through DBT ( Direct Benefit Transfer ) mechanism.
